Welcome to Esthers!

My name is Fiona Wood and I am the proprietor and manager of Esthers coffee shop which is situated in the Virgin active club in Corfe Mullen.

I opened the coffee shop in August 2008 after a series of unusual circumstances. At the time I was a housewife after giving up my role as school nurse here in this community in order to spend more time with my family. After five years I thought it was about time to get fit and decided to join VA. I saw that the bar area was closed but had heard that someone was coming in to take it over in the June. I thought that was a shame as I had a vision for owning my own coffee shop but I did not have any experience. So, I decided that it was about time for me to get a job in one if I was serious about having my own. That week I bought an echo and there was an advert for a part time catering assistant at VA! I got a job for one morning a week. I started on Tuesday July 1st and by the Friday my new boss had offered to sell it to me. Six weeks later after a crash course in how to make coffee I became the new owner! It’s great to be back working within my community even if I have swapped looking for nits to making the best espresso coffee in Corfe Mullen!

In May 2009, Esthers outside catering division was launched. We are proud to be the preferred caterer to Merley house for their training and conferences. We shall be doing our first wedding there this year too! We are also able to cater for you in your home so please take a look at our menus. Obviously, I could not do all this just by myself. I have a fantastic team who help make Esthers a fantastic place to unwind. We are a very friendly team that ensures Esthers has a very homely atmosphere , but we will also ensure that you have a professional service.

And please do not think that you have to be a member of VA in order to enjoy Esthers as we are open to the public too. So, if you have ever thought , “I wish there was a coffee shop in Corfe Mullen”, well now there is!

We really welcome you to Esthers, to enjoy the superb coffee and fantastic environment which includes amazing views from the balcony. Our motto is,

.... ‘be revived one cup at a time’.

So, why not call in? Just sign in at reception and follow the coffee! The only exercise required is lifting the cup!
